HISTORIC MOMENT FOR THE HOTTENTOTS HOLLAND WEIGHTLIFTING CLUB |
The South African Weightlifting Federation recently decided that the club should be up-graded to an Academy for the sport of weightlifting in South Africa.
Since 1981 this club has served as the Headquarters of the South African Weightlifting Federation, at the time when Hubert and Hester Montgomery became President and Secretary of the national federation. They are also the present Chairman and Secretary of the H H Club. For the first time in the history of our sport we now have professional weightlifters who practice weightlifting full-time. These young lifters are Babalwa Ndleleni, Jean Greeff and Luwellyne Phillips. They are training under the watchfull eye of our National Coach, Aveenash Pandoo. The boys are still juniors and Babalwa is a senior. |
